Adventures in Listening

Recently, we’ve noticed that Cutie’s hearing aids weren’t quite doing their job. While Cutie’s initial reply to the problem was “So what? You can yell,” we’d really rather not. It was time for a recalibration, so off she went to the audiologist for testing. After a couple of weeks she got a refurbished pair of hearing aids, and discovered the delights of overhearing whispers for the first time in ages. Let’s tag along as she gets the lay of the land of her new sonic horizons.

Ask Grandma Anything: How To Get Over A Passionate Love?

Sadie writes:

Dear Cutie,

On June 16, 2006, my whole world changed when I met the love of my life. We were so passionate with each other that we had to limit our actual physical contact. When I accepted in my heart the hugeness of my love for him I told him so. He appreciated my feelings but said I was too old for him (I am 5 years older). After that I distanced myself from him but my feelings and passion for him has never waivered. It’s clear we will never be together or marry. He has moved on. I have not. I wish I would stop thinking about him, watching him from afar, and sending him messages of love. I want to find a new love as powerful as that one. What should I do? Why am I so devoted to
this shadow?

Cutie replies:

Dear Sadie,

First loves are hard to forget. You will always remember him. However, there’s a lot of fish in the ocean. Open your heart and I’m sure you are going to find someone equally as exciting as he is. Forty years later, you’ll still remember. But you have to meet somebody new. Give them a chance. I am sure that if you keep your heart open you’re going to find more people than you know what to do with. Just give yourself a chance.

Good luck to you, keep us posted!
Cutie

Broguiere’s Chocolate Milk

Scrumptious, creamy, incredibly delicious! That’s what fans say about Broguiere’s glass-bottle chocolate milk, a Southern California favorite for almost a century. Since the beverage-resistant Cutie has been more open-minded than usual about trying new drinks, we picked up a bottle and asked for her review. Can plain old chocolate milk really be that good, or is it all hype? Tune in as Cutie tells it like it is.
